Members of the Cape Breton University Capers women’s basketball team recently presented the Cape Breton Regional Hospital Foundation with a cheque for $10,273.39, representing funds raised by the teams successful Shoot for the Cure night held February 11th at the Sullivan Fieldhouse.
Then once in a while we are present with a choice that is much more “a fork in the road of life.” Recently, I was presented with one of these options. The decision was a big one and would affect not just me but my entire family. It was this – Do I stay with the Regional Hospital Foundation, which I love, or do I move on to another organization.
Tuesday, April 17, 2012. Sydney, NS – The Cape Breton Regional Hospital Foundation has announced the resignation of its CEO, Barbara Stead-Coyle. After more than five years of working with the Foundation, Barbara has accepted a new position with another organization.
April 16th, 2012. Sydney, N.S. – Recently, at a Spring Tea to celebrate volunteers of the Cape Breton District Health Authority, hosted by the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, The Foundation announced the creation of the Mabel MacDougall Volunteer of the Year Award.
David Jamael, Charlotte Street Branch Manager, BMO Bank of Montreal, presents a cheque to Valerie Nugent, Cape Breton Cancer Centre Manager, for $50,000.

Play Fore Kids
On Friday, July 26th, join the Cape Breton Regional Hospital Foundation and the YMCA of Cape Breton for the 2nd Annual Play Fore Kids Charity Golf Tournament at The Lakes Golf Club. Support two of Cape Breton’s largest charities through one event and help us take steps forward in children’s health! Last year, this tournament sold out, hosting 144 players from Cape Breton’s business community. All proceeds raised support the Pediatrics Unit at the Regional Hospital and the YMCA’s children’s programs.
