Thursday, May 24th, 2012 – Sydney, N.S. –Thursday, May 24th, 2012, the Cape Breton Regional Hospital Foundation has announced $800,000 in funding to upgrade and renovate an operating room at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
The upgrade will include renovations to combine two existing operating rooms to form one large, high-tech, multi-use OR, able to accommodate many different types of surgeries and procedures.
Well, it is that time of year again. The weather is getting nicer, days are getting longer and hotter, and the true sign summer is almost here—sun screen is a must if I plan on being outside!
Not only is this time of year great for outdoor yard work, vacation planning, and some relaxing, it is also a great time of year for events and fundraisers.
Over the course of their lives, one in seven Canadian men will develop prostate cancer. And one in 27 of them, will die from it.
On June 8th, 2012, Golf for Dad – in support of prostate cancer, will take place at The Lakes Golf Club, in Ben Eoin. Grab your favorite golf buddies and come out for a great golf day, all in support of the Cape Breton Cancer Centre. Included in your package is a pre game reception the night before the tournament, lunch and a BBQ on the course with a full steak dinner to end the day.
May 7th, 2012, Sydney, N.S – On Saturday, May 5th, at C200 in Sydney, more than 460 guests came together for the Cape Breton Regional Hospital Foundation`s Viva Las Vegas event, presented by Casino Nova Scotia, Nova Scotia Gaming Corporation and Cape Breton Beverages. The goal of this event was to raise $35,000 to purchase a new incubator for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the Regional Hospital. This goal was far surpassed.

Play Fore Kids
On Friday, July 26th, join the Cape Breton Regional Hospital Foundation and the YMCA of Cape Breton for the 2nd Annual Play Fore Kids Charity Golf Tournament at The Lakes Golf Club. Support two of Cape Breton’s largest charities through one event and help us take steps forward in children’s health! Last year, this tournament sold out, hosting 144 players from Cape Breton’s business community. All proceeds raised support the Pediatrics Unit at the Regional Hospital and the YMCA’s children’s programs.
