Our Philosophy
The Cape Breton Regional Hospital Foundation is a non-profit, charitable organization established to ensure quality health care for all Cape Bretoners. Through the dedicated support from the community, we raise funds for state-of-the-art equipment and enhanced services at the Regional Hospital. Every dollar you give is used to improve health care for the patients of the Regional Hospital
Since 1991, thanks to the generosity of our community, more than $15 million has been raised to purchase medical equipment that has dramatically reduced wait times and provided an increased menu of services – closer to home.
Mission: To help Cape Bretoners live full and healthy lives.
Purpose: Instill a spirit of giving and link the generosity of donors with the health care needs of Cape Bretoners.

Our History
The Cape Breton Regional Hospital Foundation has a strong history of financial support from our community.
In 1990, the Foundation launched a $6 million fundraising drive to raise $3 million for construction of the Regional Hospital and $3 million for a cancer treatment centre so that the residents of Cape Breton did not have to travel to Halifax for treatment.
Since then, the community has continued to generously support the Foundation. Together, we have raised more than $15 million for equipment enhancements at the Regional Hospital.
The results are unequivocal: Dramatically reduced wait times and an increased array of important services – closer to home.
We are so grateful for each and every gift. Whether they are from corporations, artists, schools, community groups, sports teams, or individuals, each gift makes a big difference. Because you care, lives are forever changed.

Golf For Dad – In Support of Prostate Cancer
Over the course of their lives, one in seven Canadian men will develop prostate cancer. And one in 27 of them, will die from it.
On June 8th, 2012, Golf for Dad – in support of the Cape Breton Cancer Centre, will take place at The Lakes Golf Club, in Ben Eoin. Grab your favorite golf buddies and come out for a great golf day, all in support of the Cape Breton Cancer Centre. Included in your package is a pre game reception the night before the tournament, lunch and a BBQ on the course with a full steak dinner to end the day.
All funds raised will be donated to the Cape Breton Cancer Centre, in support of Prostate Cancer.

5th Annual Cape Breton Cares Radiothon!

The 5th Annual Cape Breton Cares Radiothon will take place on September 27th, 2012.
Last year, our community came together to raise more than $506,000 at the Cape Breton Cares Radiothon. Thanks to your support, we were able to purchase critical equipment and fund upgrades for departments throughout the Regional Hospital. Click here for more information on Radiothon.
This 12-hour long event is the Cape Breton Regional Hospital Foundation’s biggest and most exciting event. And it is all thanks to your support!
