The Cape Breton Regional Hospital Foundation is excited about the future of healthcare in Cape Breton, and are currently planning for the largest capital campaign in the 35+ year history of our organization. Foujndation Staff and Board have publicly stated an intent to launch a multi-year, multi-million dollar capital campaign to support the building of Cape Breton's new Cancer Centre as part of the recently announced Cape Breton Healthcare Redevelopment Plan for the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.

Since the cancer centre opened in 1998, new cancer diagnosis have increased by 132%, as evidenced by the 1,900 new cancer diagnosis in the last year.  The cancer centre was built for 16,000 visits a year, and the numbers today exceeds 40,000 visits annually.

The Cape Breton Cancer Centre is located at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital in Sydney. It opened in 1998. The Cape Breton Cancer Centre provides services in the Eastern Zone of the Nova Scotia Health Authority, which includes Guysborough, Antigonish, Richmond, Inverness, Victoria and Cape Breton counties.

As part of the Cape Breton Health Care Redevelopment project, the new Cape Breton Cancer Centre will more than double in size. It will be a comfortable, supportive centre focused on patients and their families.

The new, state-of-the-art cancer centre will allow for a comprehensive approach to care and treatment all under one roof. This will be a cancer centre doctors, staff and the community will be proud of. It will help attract more health professionals and improve the overall experience for cancer patients and their families.

Your support will be truly appreciated by all 150 patients who use the Cancer Centre every single day.

To make sure  patients have access to important cancer care, please give today. Your generosity can make all the difference in the world for the next patients in need.
